What is Grand Prix Shootout?

Why decide who the best driver is over a whole season where the budget and team play a big role? Why not put drivers head-to-head in a shoot-out situation with experts watching their every move to decide which driver is best? That's what Grand Prix Shootout is all about.

We are going to assess drivers from all over the world, choose the most talented and do our best to take them all the way to Formula 1.

Who should enter? If you want to prove you're the best up and coming driver in the world AND you want a chance to get the funding to make it all the way to Formula 1, then you need to enter Grand Prix Shootout.

Assessment Process

In round 1 drivers will spend a day being assessed in a road-going hatchback car. Each driver will spend the day at the Bruntingthorpe proving ground under the guiding eye of Rob Wilson, following the same format he used to select the drivers for Honda F1's young driver programme.

Up to 10 of the most promising drivers will be invited to take part in the Final which will take place on 3rd & 4th November at Brands Hatch (Indy Circuit).

Drivers will spend a full day testing a Formula Ford racing car. They will work with the engineers to set the best time possible over the course of the day. The whole process will be a test of key skills such as driving ability, communication, stamina, technical understanding, problem solving and the ability to learn.

The panel of judges will choose one winner.

The Prize

The winning driver will be given a full season in the 2011 British Formula Ford championship with a top team.

The driver will receive a salary and expenses, as well as a full fitness programme with top F1 driver fitness specialists Pro Performance to allow them to compete at the highest level. It is hoped that, towards the end of the season, our driver will have demonstrated that they are a future Formula 1 star.

If the driver wins the British Formula Ford championship, they will go on to race with a leading team in British F3 in 2012.

At this point we may launch a public or private share issue in the future career earnings of our driver to raise the necessary budget to take them to Formula 1.

We have partnered with Chantrey Vellacott DFK who were responsible for the successful IPO for Justin Wilson PLC. The driver will sign a management contract with a yet to be confirmed percentage of their earnings to go towards the shareholders.

Although we are currently in the midst of a global financial upheaval, indications are that this will have abated by late 2010. Our IPO will have a particular appeal to fans and people in the industry and should not be judged in the same way as normal shares.

Provided we have the funds in place from sponsorship, investment or an IPO, we will compete in the GP2 Series in 2013.

By then, we hope to have a budget big enough to give our driver a foothold in Formula 1, assuming they have impressed in the other formulae.
