Overview

The concept

Assuming you win Grand Prix Shootout, we want to ensure that you have the funding to go all the way to
Formula 1 without any budget related problems or delays.

To achieve this, we will pay for your first season of Formula BMW Europe immediately.

Next, we will raise the funds for you to reach F1 with a public share issue where investors can buy a share in your future career earnings.

All along the way, you will have the best support, advice and resources available to help you achieve your dream.

The Prize shall be conditional on the winning driver entering into a management agreement with Motorsport Etc Ltd and subject to the terms of such agreement.

2011

The first year will see you race in the Formula BMW Europe series, with Raikkonen Robertson Racing.

We will also fund you to take part in the Formula BMW World Final if you are invited to participate.

You will receive a salary, coaching and full support and development.

Share issue

During the 2011 season we will launch a share issue in your future earnings. This will involve setting up a public limited company (PLC) in your name and selling shares in it globally.

We will promote it heavily during the year, with the aim of having it fully subscribed before testing for 2011 begins.

We will be using the services of Chantrey Vellacott DFK - the same firm that arranged the successful share issue in Justin Wilson PLC, in 2003.

After 2011

Provided we have a successful share issue, you will then join Raikkonen Robertson again to compete in the 2012 British Formula 3 International Series.

Then, in 2013, you will race in the GP2 series provided that is the best move for you at the time.

At this point, we will have a budget and the connections necessary to facilitate getting our driver a seat in
Formula 1 - provided they have proven they are good enough!

Driver development

The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts will help you learn to express yourself in every area of your profession.

Introduction

Our aim is to ensure you get all the help and support necessary to achieve your goal. As soon as you are announced as our winner, we will begin work behind the scenes to make everything happen.

From 2010 to 2013 you will undergo a comprehensive driver development programme to ensure you make the most of your potential and are ready for a Formula 1 drive when the opportunity arises.

Management

We can help you in every aspect of your life if you wish. The key is to make your daily life as easy as possible.

Drivers under 18 will be placed with a specially selected family. We will work closely with parents on this matter and to ensure that all education needs are catered for.

We will have a network of international sponsorship agents who will be focussed on increasing our budget.

Driving coaching

From the moment you are chosen as our winner you will be under the guidance of Rob Wilson. Rob will design an ongoing coaching programme for you to ensure that you develop your driving talent to the full. If it's good enough for current F1 drivers, it's good enough for you!

This programme will continue right through to the end of the 2011 season.

Of course, there will be a lot to learn, at Formula BMW tests and races with Raikkonen Robertson, also. Every effort will be made to give you every possible advantage, including track days to learn circuits, etc.

Fitness training

Formula Medicine is one of the most respected names in motorsport fitness. They have been looking after the health and fitness of F1 drivers for more than twenty years. Recent clients include all the recent Renault F1 and Toyota F1 drivers.

Formula Medicine plays such an integral part of Renault F1’s driver fitness programme that a member of their staff has relocated to Oxfordshire to be near the team.

You will have a full fitness programme developed for you by Formula Medicine. This will start with a full medical and fitness assessment which will be carried out at the Formula Medicine headquarters near Pisa in Italy.

As well as regular contact with your Formula Medicine programme manager in Oxford, you will have a personal trainer who will work with you daily at a properly equipped gym at Oxford University.

Technical training

Understanding how a racing car works, how it interacts with the track and translating this into better lap times are some of the most important aspects of motor racing. We want to ensure that you quickly reach a level where you can discuss competently with your race engineer all aspects of the car's performance.

You may be an engineering genius already but, if not, we have worked with the world famous Oxford Brookes University to develop a specific training course just for our winner.

Further practical technical training will be ongoing with Rob Wilson and Raikkonen Robertson.

Media training

We will use our network of media professionals to ensure you are fully trained in how to make best use of the media. This will include how to present yourself in interviews and how to produce your own internet content.

You will also attend classes with the world famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where you will be taught how to communicate with others and express yourself effectively - two important aspects of a successful career.

2011

Formula BMW Europe

The main part of the prize for 2011 is a full season of
Formula BMW Europe with the Raikkonen Robertson Racing team.

You will start testing with Raikkonen Robertson Racing as
soon as possible after the Grand Prix Shootout Final.

Your prize will include the budget to compete with Raikkonen
Robertson Racing at the Formula BMW World Final in 2011 if
you are invited to participate.

Formula BMW Europe is one of the most prestigious junior
series in the world. It is also special in that every round
of the series takes place at a Grand Prix.

Past champions include Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel and
Nicolas Hulkenberg.

Share Issue

Justin Wilson launched a successful IPO in 2003 to raise the budget he needed to race in Formula 1.

Overview

Towards the end of your Formula BMW season we will issue shares in your future career. Assuming you are demonstrating that you are indeed a future World Champion, this should allow us to raise the money required to take you all the way to Formula 1.

Naturally, this will require you to give a percentage of your future earnings to shareholders for a number of years. However, the potential funds you could raise by taking this route make it a more lucrative proposition than relying solely on traditional sponsorship deals.

What is an Initial Public Offering?

An Initial Public Offering (IPO) is when a company first makes its stock available for purchase to the public. From a racing driver’s point of view this means setting themselves up as a public limited company (PLC) with all earnings going into the company. Shares are sold in those future earnings for a period of time, for example, ten years.

How it will work?

The process begins immediately after the announcement of our winner in November 2010. We will set up a public limited company in your name and begin the expensive process of organizing the IPO, which will cost in the region of £100,000.

Although we don’t plan launching the IPO before September 2011, we want to have all the preparation done just in case there is sudden public interest in you which would help sell the stock. Therefore, we want to be ready at a moment's notice to act if the market dictates.

During your Formula BMW season in 2011 we will build up a database of fans and investors using our contacts, the media and the internet. Your Formula BMW car will carry the message “Invest in a champion” for the whole season which will encourage people to sign up to our mailing list.

It’s up to you to show the world that you are the Next Big Thing. We will promote the IPO, but investors must believe that you are worth the investment!

At the right time, we will launch the IPO. It is planned to have the whole IPO completed in plenty of time to start testing with Carlin Motorsport for the 2012 British Formula 3 International Series.

You will then have a PLC in your name. You will take a salary which may be as much as 75% of earnings and the shareholders will receive dividends for the remainder. The money raised from the IPO will be used to pay for your future racing.

How much money will we raise?

It is planned to raise enough money to race in British Formula 3 with Raikkonen Robertson Racing and the GP2 Series with the best team available plus a significant budget to get a reserve driver contract with a good F1 team.

We also need a budget to cover your own management and development and also the setting up and operation of an experienced sponsorship team to get serious backing for F1. This all adds up to more than £4M which is certainly achievable.

Because of the publicity you will be generating - especially as the winner of a global talent search - we hope to raise significant sponsorship in any case. This will make your dream of reaching F1 even more attainable.

How much of your earnings will you have to part with?

The actual percentage of your earnings that you will receive can only be decided closer to the time. It will depend on the amount of money we want to raise, how the market is at the time, etc.

As a rough guide, based on a ten year contract, we aim to give you about 50% for the first five years and about 75% for the second five years.

What about the Credit Crunch?

There will always be Formula 1 and there will always be fans of
Formula 1.

The current economic climate has affected mainstream shares, in particular those in the financial sector. Your shares are completely different. You will be offering fans a chance to share in your future earnings.

If you get to F1, your earning potential is huge and your shareholders will benefit. Perhaps F1 drivers will earn less over the next few years than they previously did - but they will still earn a lot.

Apart from that, F1 enthusiasts will want to feel that they are closer to the sport by owning a piece of a champion. That’s not just about making money, it’s about the excitement and enjoyment of the sport they love.

One advantage of the current economic climate is that costs are coming down so that any money we raise will go even further for you.

2012

You will race in the prestigious Macau Grand Prix.
Ayrton Senna won the British Formula 3 title in 1983.

British Formula 3 International Series

Providing the IPO is successful you will have a full season of
racing in the 2012 British Formula 3 International Series with
Raikkonen Robertson Racing. This will cover testing in 2011
and 2012 and all the support needed to mount a successful
campaign.

The British Formula 3 International Series is one of the most
prestigious championships in motorsport. Past winners include
Jackie Stewart, Emmerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet (Snr and
Jnr), Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen and Rubens Barrichello.

Formula 1 teams keep a close eye on who's who in British F3.

2013
